One issue that we didn't anticipate is that since the leash is cotton (or a cotton blend), it gets smelly and dirty as the dog drags it in the lawn/dirt/pond/ocean. A quick hand wash in the sink with dish detergent solves the problem, but it takes a long time to dry. If it had it to do over again, I might spend a little more money to get a nylon leash that would be easier to keep clean.
