Thank god it does, cause if it was only 60w it wouldn't have worked for the function I needed. Right on the inside of the light I received it says 100w max, so unless they changed production the same should apply. When I ordered I was looking for a clear glass with a clear bulb application, so I was willing to go with 60w thinking that hopefully would be bright enough to illuminate my stairs. As I said I'm glad it really did allow 100w. Other than being a bit tacky with the brass and not the more trendy stainless it was quite a decent find. Total price was around $17 for me, and worth it.
The only drawback I've found with it was it wasn't a foto cell... so when I ordered it I headed to home depot and got one of those nifty after market dusk till dawn fixtures. Again, this wasn't something that came with the bulb, but when I installed it the foto cell ALWAYS seems to face the reflector side, so it doesn't go off unless the light is bright enough. So this may not happen to you, or it might. Just be forwarned if that is your intention. Otherwise it seems to function well enough. Since this was our 5th light change (had a heck of a time finding a light that worked) it seemed easy enough to install, but we've done so many of them I can't really judge fairly. Otherwise it was a fairly basic fixture, you see what you get!
